The Indency of Humanity

This depresses the heck out of me. It was on CNN.com, and it shows a video of a 78-year old man who was hit by a car that drove off, and it took a full MINUTE AND A HALF for anyone to do ANYTHING. People stared like idiots but NO ONE EVEN CALLED 911. (Note, the video is graphic, so if you watch it, beware.)

Seriously, people, WHAT THE HELL? I'm not a fan of cursing, but this is one time it warrants it.

(Sorry for the massive amounts of all caps today. It's just one of those days.)

This made me livid. I mean, absolutely livid when I saw it earlier. What is the matter with people today? All those people just staring. Help the poor man! Gosh.

I will never understand some of the things that people do in this world. Especially to the weak and helpless. I know some elderly people can be mean, but they have a very special place in my heart, and when people do stuff like this to them, it makes my blood run cold.

I think the lesson we can all learn from this is to always be the better man/woman and DO THE RIGHT THING. Queen Mommy, I'm glad yours did in respect to the fire you blogged about today.

I can't bring myself to watch the video. Just the thought of it makes me sad. That's someone's Dad and Grandpa. It makes no sense why people would not want to do something...is it possible everyone thought someone else was calling?? I want to think there has to be some logical reason for that behavior.

I sure hope that everyone was thinking the other one was calling. I know I've thought that before. I think from now on I should just call anyway, because you never know...
