THIS:

A mere two months ago gas here was double this price or higher. It reached a peak of $4.619/gallon when Hurricane Ike shut down the refineries that give us our gas supply and caused shortages for weeks. I have been anal-retentive for years about recording how much I spend on gas for my car, and I was approaching $55 to fill up my little Chevy Malibu before the price drops. In my car's short little life it has NEVER been filled up for this price.
Ever.
In a world where the economic situation is daunting to say the least, downright depressing to be conservative, and enough to make anyone a psychotic lunatic if you really want to get extreme, filling up my car this very cold morning after my bi-annual allergist appointment and seeing this when the pump stopped was very exciting. I don't know how long this is going to last, but hopefully for a long, long time.
Give thanks, everyone, because at least one thing in our world right now doesn't economically suck.

My husband tells me about every other day the price of a barrel of oil!! too funny!
Even though the prices have dropped I am trying to maintain my the driving less stance I took up when the oil companies jacked up the prices.
WHAT? That is a beautiful thing. Gas where I am is still $2.3something a gallon. Last time I filled up it was $40 ish and I almost did a cartwheel!
Thank God for small miracles ... actually, this is a BIG one.
This is the second gas tank picture I have seen today and all I have to say is BRAVO!!
I know how you feel!! Our gas just got to 1.92/gal in RI and I have been so happy. With the rising cost of everything else, we needed a break!
Oh yea!! I love this!!!! I remember putting $25 in my tank and not having even half a tank - now it fills up!!! LOVE it!
Me too! So exciting to fill up for less than $30 bucks again. LOVE it!
I was working at a gas station when prices first went over $2.00. We were scrambling to get 2s made. I cannot believe it's gotten so high. But oh how wonderful it's coming down. I've seen $1.91 but that's as low as it is around here right now.
