I Finally Did It, Sports Fans

Today is the 17th of May, and I finally, after six and a half months, took the Christmas lights off of the trees in my front yard. Yes, I apparently am a redneck. (But not as much as the people across the street. Theirs have been up AT LEAST three years...when we moved here.) My husband told me I should go ahead and just leave them up and save myself three hours Thanksgiving weekend, but we desperately need to cut the ivy back from the trees, and without light removal it was impossible (unless we wanted to cut 11 sets of lights). Ahh, what a sense of accomplishment.

In other news (actually sports related), it is the 17th of May and today I ACTUALLY found myself wishing for football season to start. My husband was looking at old video clips on YouTube of Clemson (go Tigers!) football games, and I couldn't help but look fondly to future tailgates, butt whippings, fried chicken, cold weather, and 80,000 people cheering for the best team in the world. I know I'll be regretting this come September when I don't see my husband for 4 months straight, but it would be kinda nice now.

Happy weekend!

When we lived in SC, we kept our Christmas lights up around our back porch all year. People thought it was because it provided a nice party light, but it was really because we were to lazy to put all those bulbs back in the plastic thingies.

And I'm also ready for football season to start!
