That is the question that prompted a visit to the pediatrician today. I don't know what the deal is, but for the past week or so Livers has woken up with some FUUUNKY smelling diapers. Now, I know what a heavy overnight diaper is supposed to smell-look like. I've only changed roughly 500 of them (I did the math). This is different. And being a first time mom, I decided to go with my instincts and take her to see the doc.
Unfortunately, the trip felt wasted. She had no fever; eats/sleeps/pees/poops like normal. She's not had any new food. Nothing is out of the ordinary but for the foul nappies. The doctor tried to get a urine sample without catheterizing her (she said it would be too traumatic--probably so, she's had one before and hated it). They essentially tape this little bag to her wee wee and wait for her to do a onesie. Unfortunately for the doc (and us) we had no luck. It kept coming loose, she kept squirming in it, and she never went. So now I have to try and do this myself and drop off the sample sometime tomorrow. Joy.
At least she was a trooper. She has reached the age where she is scared of the doctor, but today she was cheerful and playful. Must have been the 15 minute nap she had on the way (that incidentally was all she needed till bedtime. Double joy.)
If anyone out there has had any experience with this, I'd LOVE the info, because we're baffled.

Nope, my eggo definitely ain't preggo. Husband smelled it, too.
We took her back to the doctor today to be cathed, and they think she has a UTI. We'll find out tomorrow :/
