A Would-be Mosaic and Thoughts

I have a headache and I don’t know why. I hate it when that happens. Usually they’re from hormone levels dropping off when it’s that time. It’s probably from using my computer too much today. I finally got Scrapblog working today and have been trying my hand at a little (free) digital scrapbooking. I must say, it’s a whole lot of fun. In the time I would take to make half of one page (I’m a wee anal-retentive) I made two on Scrapblog. I hope to get a decent understanding with it (and the help of my copy of Digital Scrapbooking for Dummies on its way from Half.com…yes, I’m a nerd) so I can break into the bigger leagues in the future.

There’s not a whole lot on my mind right now. I suppose it’s a good thing, because I could be mentally oppressed. I hate a great post planned this morning. I woke up with it and knew it would’ve been a real insightful winner. It’s gone now. By the time I’d gotten Livers her breakfast it had slipped my mind. Don’t you hate it when that happens? A sign of aging, I guess.

About the only major thing on my mind (and I’m sure other Americans) is the economy. For the most part, realistic Lindsay is able to tell herself that her family will be OK. We’ve for the most part have been fairly careful financially, so hopefully we’ll be able to weather this poop storm with some grace. We just need to use our heads and not get stupid with our money. Learn to be more frugal, which can be difficult with two people who like to buy things and to do stuff. It can be tough to maintain this realism, especially with the way the media likes to bombard you through all outlets, 24/7, with a constant update of just how bad it can be. With this it doesn’t take long for my pessimistic side to rear its head and try to cloud my good judgment. It doesn’t help that I’m a stay-at-home mom with plenty of time to sit and think (between time outs and loud toddler voices).

I need to learn to be a more creative mom. I get myself into a rut with Livers and me sometimes. We’ll sit and I’ll tick of the minutes until lunch or naptime or when my husband comes home. I know that it sounds bad, but I’m sure that other moms feel the same way from time to time. Heck, I’m sure any working person feels that way about their job every once in awhile. I know that my husband does. He’s said so. Luckily it’s not everyday. Fortunately two things work in my favor: it’s fall and finally cool enough to go outside, so I’m going to start going to the park more often, and Livers is growing up, so we’ll be able to do more arts and crafts. Enjoying craftiness myself it’ll be fun for the two of us to sit at the kitchen table and work on projects together.

As a brief afterthought, I'd like to have included a Flickr mosaic. Those things are so much fun and I'd like to do them more often. However, my internet here is a crap shoot. I've disconnected and reconnected no less than four times in the last thirty minutes just to maintain a connection. Luckily we'll be switching from our current service really soon. One less reason to get a headache. Hallelujah!

Scrapblog? Is it somewhat easy to use? I really need to find some sort of hobby, but one I can do from home and one that doesn't cost a lot of money!

your service sounds like mine - I am so ready to switch!!

Get ready for winter - the days are longer - and more boring!! Time for another baby - Livers can have a playmate then- you won't get so bored!

You tick off the minutes too? Shhhhh, don't tell anyone, but ME TOO. Except, the more kids you have, the less ticking off you have to do due to boredom. My "ticking off" is more of the "when will reinforcements arrive" variety.

I'm a scarpbooker, the traditional kind. Although, I have done a few online ones as well. I love your digital page- too cute.
